I dedicate this site to my son whom my wife and I adopted five years ago. He is enjoying life with his adopted parents and through an open adoption is connected with his lovely birthmom. I also dedicate this site to the two other children my wife and I longed to also parent, for we had hoped for three children. As one of the tens of thousands of infertile Canadians, our home is open to what pro-abortionists dishonestly called "unwanted children". This is one of the great and many lies which is perpetrated to falsely keep abortion seen as a moral position. A friend of mine recently adopted a girl with downs syndrome and was among six families willing to welcome the child. It is safe to say that amongst the 2.5 million children aborted since 1988, that two or more of these people would have enjoyed being family with Janice and I. The rest would have found homes among the many infertile couples who long for children and other families which are hospitable enough to welcome them. Adoption is a tough choice, but it extends relationship and the human family, whereas abortion creates death, regret, and a diminishment of our common humanity.

As for former United Church minister, I am keenly aware of the personal suffering that women experience in this broken world, however there is no suffering that can trump the desire of another human being to express the life which God our Creator has given them. One need only examine the process of fetal development to see how these lives are attempting in many ways to come to full expression in birth, childhood and fullness of life. Aside from clearly protecting one's own life, there is little reason for a woman's suffering to justify mortal violence against another human being's selfhood. They are children, and either from a faith basis or not, it is highly irrational to conclude that they are not full persons; the Supreme Court's activist decision be damned. To support abortion either implicitly or explicitly is to support a culture of death. While these "progressives" believe they are creating a better society, in reality they are leading us to a profound loss of humanity and thereby open the door to future social decay, strife, and chaos.

"The culture of life means respect for nature and protection of God's work of creation. In a special way, it means respect for human life from the first moment of conception until its natural end." - Pope John Paul the Great

For several reasons, in 2005, I not only left the United Church of Canada, but I renounced it and converted to Roman Catholicism. I was not surprised that the group which conspired to have Henry Morgentaler awarded the Order of Canada met in a United Church. The history of the UCC and the history of Canada are intertwined, since in many ways the UCC sees itself as the Church of Canada. Unfortunately its operative theological and ethical teachings no longer sufficiently resemble those of the Church of Jesus Christ, our redeemer. While there are pockets of faithful congregations and communities, under the guise of an "Inclusive Gospel", the UCC has become less of a Church and more of an institution which supports a culture of death. I challenge UCC members to consider whether your participation in one of the mainline denominations which implicitly supports killing unborn children is being a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. Consider the silence of most denominations with the exception of the Roman Catholic Church on the abortion issue. Consider whether your denomination is serving the crucified saviour or serving the spirit of the age. If it is not in your conscience to unite with Rome, consider the Evangelical Churches. While I still have good friend in the UCC, I encourage people to leave the United Church of Canada and similar mainline Churches for more faithful and solid Christian communities.

Those on the socially left of Canada have been masterful in labeling anyone who happens to think that personhood begins at conception an extremist. This is a farcical label given that, with the exception of some splinter denominations, almost all Christians and Jews, and most Muslims oppose abortion. In fact, it is quite ironic that the majority of humanity stands in opposition with what some Canadians call progress. Rabbi Yehuda Levin, a spokesman for the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada, and the Rabbinical Alliance of America with a combined membership of well over a thousand Rabbis, has forcefully condemned the award of the Order of Canada to abortionist Henry Morgentaler. Many more Churches, Synagogues, and Mosques also reject Western liberal arguments for abortion, with good reason. They know that the basis of our humanity is to welcome children, troublesome or not, into our human communities.

It was Rabbi Yehuda Levin who gave me the idea for the name of this web site. He said, "I think that the award presented to Dr. Death Morgentaler should more aptly be called the 'Disorder of Canada' because it's a terrible reflection on a country that can honor a person based on his elimination - self-professed elimination of 100,000 preborn children," Rabbi Levin, 2008.

Members of the Order of Canada are a reflection of what makes Canada a great human community. It is people in service of other human beings, especially the most vulnerable among us, that makes a human community great. I therefore encourage the best among us to continue their lives of sacrifice and humanity by rejecting these medals which have been tarnished with the inclusion of one of Canada's worst examples, Henry Morgentaler. This symbolic act will encourage many others to stand up for a culture of life in Canada and embolden a new generation to live lives of service and sacrifice for others, especially the next generation and those who yet to be conceived. We ordinary Canadians await your continuing example of what makes Canada a great nation. We encourage you to join the growing number of Members returning their medals.
